Accoya® Windows & Doors

This imposing Manor house set in the Surrey countryside hadn’t been updated in decades.  The new owners had large scale restoration work planned and asked us to make the new box sash windows and bespoke doors throughout.  The property is within a conservation area so required planning approval for the alterations.

Whyte & Wood Solution

The new owners already knew they wanted complete replacement so we recommended using Accoya for all the new windows and doors.  This means our clients won’t have to think about any maintenance work such as redecoration for at least 10 years.  We were able to replicate period features of the original sash windows yet incorporate modern technologies for a warmer, quieter home. In addition, the glass also had our standard coating which helps reflect heat back into the room.

The new entrance door was a particular success.  The property needed something large and with wow factor.  The entrance hall needed light so we suggested an ornate fanlight and side lights with a solid door.  To finish it off, we matched a farrow and ball paint colour into our hardwearing industrial water based paint and spray applied 3 coats.  The decorative surround in combination with period mouldings and panels creates a great first impression to their home.

Our windows and doors have helped breathe new life into this impressive home.  And, because they are rot proof, this truly was a once in a lifetime investment.

What The Client Said

“Professional from start to finish with expert advice and highly skilled fitting. All the trades remarked on the sash windows and said they were the best they had seen.”
