GLAZING TECHNICIAN (W107)

Duties:

• Responsible for unloading and checking specification of all incoming glass deliveries
• Cleaning and inspecting all glass units prior to glazing
• Installing glass units into sashes and doors
• Application of Georgian glazing bar as and when required
• Weighing of sashes and glass to calculate the lead/steel weights required
• Fitting of ironmongery as and when required
• Quality control of all items before passing to packing department
• Working in accordance with priorities set out in workshop schedule
• Maintaining a safe and clean working environment with good standard of housekeeping

Requirements: 

• Experience in a workshop environment
• Experience glazing and in the neat application of silicone and putty would be advantageous, although full training would be provided
• Ability to work to a high standard of accuracy and detail
• Ability to prioritise workload
• Working as part of a team and on your own initiative
• Physically fit to lift glazed windows, doors and frames
• Flexibility and willingness to train in other areas if required
